Readmission Policy

Purpose

This policy establishes the conditions and procedures under which former students of Freedom College of Excellence may return to resume their studies.

It ensures that returning students are academically prepared to succeed and that their re-entry complies with current academic and financial aid standards.

Policy Statement

Students who have disrupted their enrollment for more than one academic year (two consecutive semesters, excluding summer) must apply for readmission. Students who withdrew or were dismissed must also follow this process.

1. Eligibility for Readmission

To be eligible for readmission, a student must:

  • Be in good academic standing (cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher).
  • Have no outstanding financial balance with the College (Bursar's Office).
  • Have no unresolved disciplinary issues (Dean of Students).
Academic Probation: Students who left on academic probation may be readmitted on probation and must meet specific GPA targets in their first returning semester.

2. Readmission Process

  • Submit Application: Complete the "Application for Readmission" at least 30 days before the start of the term.
  • Transcripts: If the student attended another institution during the absence, official transcripts must be provided.
  • Catalog Year: Readmitted students will typically be placed under the catalog requirements in effect at the time of their return.

3. Title IV & Financial Aid

Readmission does not guarantee financial aid eligibility. Returning students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards. If a student left due to SAP failure, they must submit a SAP Appeal for aid consideration.

4. Special Considerations

Military Service: Students who left for active military duty are guaranteed readmission with the same academic status they held when they departed, provided they give notice of intent to return within three years of completion of service (HEA Section 484C).

5. Appeals

Students denied readmission due to academic reasons may appeal to the Academic Standards Committee. The committee's decision is final.
